Distances range from a 50m swim, 2K bike and 500m run to a 300m swim, 10K bike and 3K run dependant on age. There is a junior relay for athletes 6 to 11 and a senior relay for athletes 12 to17.
All finishers will receive an official Westshore Youth Triathlon finisher’s medal. Ribbons will be awarded to the top five finishers in each category.
Male/Female 6-7, 8-9, 10-11, 12-13, 14-17.
There is a junior relay for athletes 6 to 11 and a senior relay for athletes 12-17.
Relay teams may include athletes of each gender. A relay team may have one athlete younger than the specified age for the category.
Age categories are determined by the participant’s age on December 31 of the race year.
6-7 – 50m swim, 2K bike, 500m run.
8-9 – 100m swim, 4K bike, 1K run
10-11 – 150m swim, 6K bike, 2K run
12-13 – 200m swim, 10K bike, 2K run
14-17 – 300m swim, 12K bike, 3K run
Junior relay – 150m swim, 6K bike, 2K run
Senior relay – 300m swim, 12K bike, 3K run
The swim takes place in the 25m pool at the Juan de Fuca Recreation Centre.
The bike course is an out and back course on paved roads within the park. The bike course is well marshalled and closed to traffic.
The run course is on the chip trail in the park. There is no traffic on the run course.
